This video is not about jewelry tutorial. It is about knowing me. The person behind the seance of all the tutorials. The school I teach recently shot a film of me and my work at my studio. I would like to share with you about my work (beside CAD) and what I believe.
PJ Chen, Instructor of Crafts at College for Creative Studies
There are a lot of similar stories among artists and designers: the creative epiphany that divides time into before this and after this. But for Chen, metal is no mere material. It is a way of communicating, of exploring the human impulse — what it means to be who we are, in all of this, together. So it’s not surprising that her jewelry and eyewear designs are informed less by the sculptors she admires and more by Buddhism. While Chen has a successful freelance career doing commercial work and custom jewelry commissions, her personal projects are about listening to the stories human nature tells.
